Community Outreach
We visit communities to raise awareness, identify families in need, and connect them with available support and resources.
A community-focused nonprofit organization
Supporting children and families affected by hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and other neurological conditions — so no family is left without information, support, or hope.
Who we are
Help Beyond Borders Zambia is a community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and families affected by hydrocephalus, spina bifida, and other neurological conditions.
Our mission is to ensure that children and families are not left without information, support, or hope because of limited resources or access to specialized care.
Through community outreach, awareness campaigns, education, family support, advocacy, and partnerships with healthcare professionals and organizations, we work to connect vulnerable families with the information and resources they need.
What we do
We visit communities to raise awareness, identify families in need, and connect them with available support and resources.
We educate parents, caregivers, communities, and the public about hydrocephalus, spina bifida, early intervention, treatment options, and the importance of seeking medical care.
We provide encouragement, information, and practical support to families navigating the challenges associated with caring for children with neurological conditions.
We advocate for greater awareness, inclusion, access to healthcare, and improved support systems for children living with disabilities and neurological conditions.
We collaborate with healthcare professionals, community organizations, volunteers, donors, and other partners to expand our reach and create sustainable impact.
From the field
In September 2022, our medical outreach team journeyed to Kanchibiya district — through Mpika to Copa Mini Hospital — where more than 300 children and adults received care. The clinic examined children with hydrocephalus and spina bifida, treated general cases, helped bring a new life into the world, and distributed donated clothes and blankets to families in need.

Our vision
“A world where every child affected by hydrocephalus, spina bifida, or a related condition has an opportunity to receive appropriate care, support, dignity, and hope — regardless of where they are born or their family’s financial circumstances.”
Our mission
To empower families, educate communities, connect people to resources, and advocate for children affected by neurological conditions across Zambia and beyond.
Meet the founder
Zambian-born and now based in Georgia, USA, Isaac “Zac” Muzata founded Help Beyond Borders Zambia to make sure no family faces a child’s neurological condition without information, support, or hope.
An Azure-certified IT professional and community advocate, Zac has spent his career building systems that serve people. A brain surgery survivor himself, he knows what it means for a family to navigate a medical journey — and he brings that compassion to every family HBB serves.
Zac also serves in music ministry at church.
Country representative — Zambia
Hope Himuyandi represents Help Beyond Borders on the ground in Zambia, connecting families, volunteers, and partners to the mission every day.
